How We Check Dates

Only Official Sources

A date goes on this site only if we read it on an official page: the organizer's own website, the venue's, the city's or downtown association's, or the official tourism board's. We do not take dates from news stories, event listing sites, social media reposts or other guides. Each market page lists the pages we used and the day we checked each one.

What "Not Announced Yet" Means

Many markets publish their dates in October or even November. Until they do, the market's page says the dates are not announced and, where the organizer's page still shows them, gives last year's dates as a guide to the usual time of year. We never present last year's dates as this year's.

How Often We Re-Check

Every official page we cite is fetched again every day. When a page changes, we read it again and update the market: new dates, new hours, a change of venue or a cancellation. Each page shows the date its facts were last checked.

Hours, Holidays and Weather

Opening hours are shown as the organizer publishes them. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve hours are often shorter, and outdoor markets can close at short notice for wind, snow or ice, so check the organizer's page or social media on the day.

Search Rankings

Our "best" list ranks markets by how many people search for them on Google each month, not by our own opinion or by payment.
