Union Square Holiday Market San Francisco 2026

Union Square is one of the city's main transit hubs. Powell Street station, for BART and Muni Metro, is about 0.2 mile from Stockton and Geary in a straight line, and the Powell Street cable cars start at Powell and Market. Closest of all is the Muni T Third line's Union Square/Market Street station, opened in 2023 as part of the Central Subway under Stockton Street.

The Union Square Alliance lists several public garages around the district and says the area is easy to get around on foot once you have parked. Among them are the Ellis-O'Farrell Garage at 123 O'Farrell Street, the 450 Sutter Garage at 450 Sutter Street, the Mason O'Farrell (Downtown Center) Garage at 325 Mason Street and the 433 Mason Garage. The Alliance does not publish rates.

Union Square is the center of San Francisco's hotel district, so the blocks around the square, the Theater District to the west and the edge of Nob Hill to the north are all a few minutes' walk from Stockton Street. Chinatown and SoMa around Yerba Buena Gardens are also close on foot.
