Savannah Christmas Market 2026

Savannah has no rail, but Chatham Area Transit (CAT) runs the free dot shuttle around the Historic District. It has two loops, Forsyth and Downtown, with 18 stops linking the visitor centers, parking garages, hotels and attractions, and comes about every ten minutes. It runs 7 am to 7 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 6 pm on weekends, so it will not get you home after a late evening at the market. There is no dot service on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Day.

Plant Riverside District, which hosts the market, has its own public garage of nearly 500 spaces, built with the City of Savannah as the first sizable public parking on River Street, and it also offers valet parking. The district describes both as steps from the market stalls. Neither page gives a rate, so check the price at the gate. Savannah's historic center is compact, and if you are staying downtown it is easy to walk instead.

Plant Riverside District holds its Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 27, 2026, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, and runs a Festival of Trees from the market's opening on November 19 and a gingerbread display from November 27 through December. The next evening, Saturday, November 28, 2026, the 25th Savannah Lighted Boat Parade sets off from Eastern Wharf at the other end of River Street, with a holiday kickoff there from 5 to 9 pm.

The market is at the west end of River Street, so the riverfront and the northern half of the Historic District, around City Market and the first few squares south of Bay Street, are all within walking distance. Staying anywhere in the Historic District puts you on the dot shuttle route.
