St. Paul Christmas Market 2026

The METRO Green Line light rail ends at Union Depot Station, on 4th Street directly in front of the building. METRO Gold Line and B Line buses and several local routes stop at Gate A inside the depot. Union Depot offers a free Metro Transit ride pass for each market day: open the market's event page and click the date you plan to visit.

Union Depot runs its own lots beside the building, all card or mobile payment only. Lot A charges $4 in the evening (after 5 pm) and on weekends, and Lot B the same, but either may switch to a $15 event rate. Lots C and D are surface lots with $4 and $2 day rates, or $10 for events (October 2026). There is a free 15-minute pick-up and drop-off area next to Lot B, reached from Kellogg Boulevard and Broadway Street.

Union Depot says the Carriage Way, on the lower level of the Head House and reached from Sibley Street just north of Kellogg Boulevard, gives ADA access into the building. There is also a curb cut at the 240 E Kellogg Blvd entrance for drop-offs, though no parking is allowed there. Much of the market is indoors in the depot.

Union Depot has a busy December. Its free Holiday Tree Lighting and Movie Night is Saturday, December 5, 2026, with the tree lit at 6 pm. The North Pole Express, a short train ride to meet Santa, runs December 4 to 6 and 10 to 13. The CPKC Holiday Train stops at the depot on Sunday, December 13, arriving about 6:45 pm for a free outdoor concert. A separate one-day Minnesota Christmas Market is on Saturday, November 21, 10 am to 4 pm.

Union Depot is in Lowertown, where several hotels are within a few blocks. Downtown St. Paul, including Rice Park and the skyway-linked core, is a walk of 15 to 20 minutes west, and the Green Line runs from the depot through downtown if it is cold.
