Philadelphia Christmas Market 2026

SEPTA is the market's official transportation partner, and the organizer points riders to three options: Regional Rail to Suburban Station, the B, L or T lines to 15th St/City Hall Station, or bus routes 2, 17, 33, 38, 44, 48, 124 and 125. 15th St/City Hall is roughly 0.1 mile from the stalls in a straight line. Children under 12 and seniors 65 and over ride SEPTA free. Indego bike share has docks at Municipal Services Building Plaza and at 15th and Market, both beside the market.

The organizer's own pick is the LOVE Park Garage directly under the market, with an elevator that comes up in the middle of Christmas Village. Visitors who register on the iParkit app get a market rate of $20 on weekdays and $21 on weekends for up to 16 hours (October 2026). Drivers enter from Cherry Street (1520 Cherry St) or Arch Street (1500 Arch St). Accessible parking is available in the same garage.

The organizer says ground cables are run overhead where it can to keep paths smooth for wheelchairs and other mobility devices. For 2026, vendor booths serve over a counter rather than letting shoppers walk inside, so every stall can be reached the same way. Accessible parking and an elevator link the LOVE Park Garage to the market. Strollers are welcome on the grounds but must be left outside the Käthe Wohlfahrt tent.

The organizer warns that the market gets very crowded on weekend days, enough that it suggests thinking twice about bringing a dog then. Weekday afternoons, when the market opens at noon, are the obvious time to go if you want room to browse. In bad weather the market may close early, and the organizer posts any change on its website and on social media as @philachristmas.

The City of Philadelphia's holiday tree lighting takes place at City Hall, right next to the market, on Thursday, December 3, 2026, from 6 to 8 pm. December 3 is a Thursday, so the market is open that evening until its usual 8 pm close. The tree lighting organizers say fuller details will be posted on November 10.

Anywhere in Center City is within walking distance: the blocks around City Hall and Market Street, Rittenhouse Square to the southwest and Logan Square up the Parkway are all within roughly 15 minutes on foot. Old City is farther east but linked by the L line to 15th St/City Hall.
