Wellsboro Dickens of a Christmas 2026

Main Street and the side streets around it, including Waln Street, Crafton Street and part of Central Avenue, are closed to traffic for the day, so plan to park and walk in. The Chamber says parking is available in several lots around town, and a shuttle runs continuously from the Wellsboro High School parking lot and the Wellsboro Plaza lot on Route 6. The Chamber's page gives no parking charges, and the detailed schedule is available from the Chamber at 114 Main Street and at local businesses on the day.

The day ends with the Peace Walk: bring a candle and gather at Packer Park at 5 pm on Saturday, December 5, 2026, then walk up Main Street to the Green for the town's Christmas tree lighting and carol sing at 5:30 pm, when Santa hands out treats to children. During the day, extra indoor craft shows are held at the United Methodist Church, the Wellsboro Active Living Center and the Firemen's Annex, and several local churches host lunches, concerts and tours.

Wellsboro is a small town, and the inns, bed and breakfasts and motels in and around the center are mostly within a walk of Main Street. Anyone staying farther out can drive to the shuttle lots at the high school or on Route 6.
